The game “Iron Cross” was born out of the desire of a group of “wargamers” from the 70s / 80s to simulate their historical battles from WWII, made in the past with maps and tokens, using this time miniatures and 3D scenarios suitable to represent small and medium scale tactical actions. We started in 2004, with the launch of our 1st — edition and in the following two years, with the publication of several modules for the system.

The system stopped in 2007, due to some problems with the miniatures and the need to rewrite the rules, since they were already well changed, due to the publication of several articles and modules by us. We left the game in the public hands for a long time, and in this year 2020, we are back in action.

This Rules covers

- USA, Soviet Union, Germany and Brazil Armies in WW2

- Infantry and Tanks

- 4 game scenarios

- Markers for 3d printing

- Player Aids

As far as I have got, the rules are interesting. You have done a great deal of work on this game, the overall quality shows that. However, the translation to English by computer without proof reading by an English speaker (preferably more than one) is a big problem here. The choice of words by the computer translation can be very awkward or downright wrong, making the rules very difficult to read.
An ink friendly version would also be a huge plus, as well as a portrait instead of a landscape page orientation.

Chris hi!!! Thanks a lot for your comments. I´m working on a new version for 2021, with many improvements and a new text version (yeah, now I´m working with a proofreader). I´ll change all system to inches only and in a big book in portrait orientation. Keep in touch, any comments, suggestions, really, I´ll appreciate them.

Hi Manoel, I was wondering if this game is the updated version released by Great Escape Games? If so what are the differences? I was also wondering if this is solo capable? I'll be reading the rules while I wait for your responses. Thanks.

Hi Gene, thanks for your doubts.

No. it´s not an update from Great Escape Games wargame. The original project comes from my cousin and your wargamer friends. In 2004, they wanted to play a miniature WW2 rules system and found nothing to please them. They were already players of several systems since the old Warhammer 40k and several board wargames like Squad Leader and Advanced Squad Leader. My cousin (Antônio Marcelo) and two other friends stayed for one year developing this system, testing the rules and modifying through the tests. In 2005 they launched in Brazil, and the game became very well known there. Since then, they have made several versions, updates, and finally, this year decided to launch to the outside market. The game has been updated to the scale of 1/300 (although there are rules for 15mm and 28mm), focusing mainly on the 3D printing market (so I go into the story), and we are now working to maintain a steady release pace.

You talked about solo rules, it's a challenge,...See more

Thankyou Manoel for the fast response. There were no doubts, just curiosity. I'm looking forward to playing the game. I have a resin printer and filament printer. Is the game scalable? Most of the tank models and infantry I've printed are in 1/100th and 1/72 scale. Thanks again. I do like the look of the manual. One suggestion might be to release a printer friendly version. I have tons of ink and paper but I know everyone doesn't.

Oh, thanks again for your comments. You gave me an idea. We'll work for a rules addendum for 1/100 and 1/72 scale miniatures, Now the rules are for 1/300 scale, but don't worry, it's easy for us here!

Ok, we'll put it on our schedule.

We now are working in Crescendo of Battles, a new module for the system covering the British, French, and Italian armies. Please stay tuned!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
