Fistful of Lead: Bigger Battles Rulebook

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Fistful of Lead: Bigger Battles is designed as a quick set of tabletop wargaming rules for skirmishes in your favorite wargaming period or genre. Like all of our Fistful of Lead games, the rules are simple to learn, but Bigger Battles is not necessarily a simple game.

What separates Bigger Battles from most tabletop miniature games on the market, is the unique card driven turn mechanism. This leads to snap decisions and tense moments where all the players are involved.

For Bigger Battles, we wanted the play to be fast and furious, with a Hollywood flair to it. For that reason, record keeping is kept to a bare minimum.

In most games, each player can control up to 5-6 units and their Commanders and Heroes without much trouble. Games can have up to 8 players without slowing down the game. Now, you can dig out all your old miniatures gathering dust and have a game ready to go in a few minutes.

To play Fistful of Lead: Bigger Battles you’ll need: this rule book (or, after a few games just the Quick Reference sheet), several 10-sided-dice, an ordinary deck of playing cards, a place to play, a measuring tape, and the miniatures representing your favorite troops. Markers to represent the status your units  can be found in this rule book.

Eight-sided and 12-sided dice may also be needed for some of the advanced optional rules.

Fistful of Lead: Bigger Battles was written with 28mm figures in mind, but you can easily use models ranging from 15mm to 54mm without any changes, or play with your troops already mounted on stands.

Experienced wargamers and new players alike will enjoy this game. It's perfect for convention games and just one on one skirmishes.

I note that there can be up to 5 or 6 units per side for single player games. How many figures are typically in a unit?

Cheers

PUBLISHER
Depends on period. We recommend 10-12 miniatures for pre-modern era. 5-6 miniatures for more modern squads. Hope that helps.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
